On Sunday saw the annual staging of the Iced Open at Sidmouth Golf Club, writes Angela Coles.
The day dawned dull and overcast, but grew hotter and sunnier by the hour.
Twenty-two pairs compelled over the course immaculately prepared by the green staff. The winners were Mike Hobbs and Alison Godwin with 37 points. Second were Don Copper and Yvonne Anning with 34 points, just pipping David Burgess and Angela Coles who finished with 33 points.
The winning visitor’s prize was won by Jan and Tony Carroll from Tiverton with 35 points followed by Kate and John Cornish from Crediton who also had 35 points, but lost on countback.
Third place went to Anne and Andres Sobczar with 33 points.
