Ottery St Mary racing car driver Ed Hollier battled for supremacy in the MG Car Club’s Wiscombe Park hill climb.
At the wheel of his 1600 cc Suzuki Hyabusa powered Pilbeam MP62, Hollier added to his brace of wins the previous weekend when he stormed to victory in a time of 35.84 seconds to take the fastest time of the day from another MP62, the two litre version of Andrew Dinner who posted a best climb of 37.24.
Hollier was not the only trophy winner from Ottery as Stephen Wickers took third place in the Pre 1955 Standard and Modified 1101-1500 cc class in his MG XPEG engine Dellow Mk2. The professional pilot guided his 1952 manufactured machine to the top of the 900 metre course in 57.25 seconds following home Andrew Morland’s MG engine Lotus 6 and the MG Dargue Special of Chris Pamplin.
