Members of two bridge clubs from Honiton, together with those from Tipton St John and Ottery St Mary, met recently at Mountbatten Park to compete for the Barry Williamson Memorial Plate.
The trophy was donated by Mr Williamson’s family, following his death two years ago, in recognition of the great pleasure that he gained from his membership of the four clubs.
Eighteen pairs competed in the closely fought and exciting event, and the winners, by a narrow margin, were Barry Cooper and Bruno Hanoman, from Honiton Bridge Club.
The trophy was presented by Peter Crawford, a previous chairman of both the Honiton and Wednesday Bridge Clubs.
