For the first time since the middle of December, the Honiton course was open for the ladies’ competition day, writes Ann Desmoulins.

On a very frosty course, which made for some interesting bounces, with nearly all temporary greens, they were able to play a 14-hole criss-cross individual stableford, where the score for each hole in the first seven holes was compared with its opposite number in the second seven (hole one is matched with hole eight and so on) and the better points score is counted so that scoring was only for seven holes instead of 14.

In Silver Division, the winner was Vicki Rogers on countback from Sue Ritchie, who was placed second, and Gill Johnson, in third, with all three players recording scores of 16 points.

The Bronze winner was Sharon Rouse with 19 points. Second was Chris Luttman with 17 points. Diana Gee also scored 17 points, but was placed third after countback.

In Bronze Two, Chris Major won with a very splendid 20 points. Second place went to Cathy Pawley with 19 points and Jan Portlock took third with 17 points.
