Sidmouth Town Under-12 raiders dished out a heavy 7-2 defeat to Inter Heavitree, writes Mark Skelding.

Raiders were simply outstanding and fully deserved to register their second success of the season against a very well organised Heavitree side.

Hughes was the goal scoring hero with a superb hat-trick whilst the other scores came from Raffell, Gibson and Birkhead with an unfortunate Inter defender also getting on the score sheet.

There were a number of near things with Parsons seeing a shot cannon back off an upright and McManus seeing his shot fizz just wide of the mark.

At the other end, Raiders keeper Hopley made some excellent saves and was given first-class protection by his disciplined defence of Newton, Main, Stamp, Leworthy and Burne.

Skelding, Tweedy, Harris and Turbitt kept the pace going with some great assists and effective passing, making for a fantastic game which was a delight to watch.
