Sidmouth Bowls Club slipped to defeat in the Ladies InterClub quarter-final against United Services (Barnstaple) by 30-37.
Chrissie Leedham, Anita Mason, Sue Turner and skip Jane Painter earned a draw but the quartet of Jean Brimson, Mary Turner, Brenda Somerfield and skip Jill Bishop succumbed to a 14-21 loss.
Sidmouth entertained Knowle BC from Bristol in a fun friendly on Sunday. Sidmouth won the match 22-11 and top rink came from Chris Radburn, Deborah Robertson, Allan Davis and skip Jerome Hagen.
There were three more friendly matches last week, starting with an excellent 67-48 win over Chardstock. Two rinks both won by eight shots each and they were Richard Bumpstead, Chris Radburn, Barbara Donaldson and skip John Mason 17 – 9, also Brian Deam, Julie Wevill, Ron Peppin and skip David Bates 18 -10.
Sidmouth then slipped to a 54-63 defeat to Bradninch before going down to a loss against Honiton.
