Sidmouth played host to the JH Taylor Putter match last week, writes Jonathan Lee.
Club captain David Pepperell gathered a team of ‘locals’ to accept a challenge from vice-captain John Barnard and his ‘Rest of the World’ team in the annual event.
The two captains played out a close encounter that ended in an honourable half.
However, that score was not reflective of the overall match as the locals took the Putter with a comfortable ten-and-half to three-and-a-half margin.
