Nine Sidmouth families took part in the annual Dartmoor Cycle Challenge, which attracted over 350 riders.

Riders select either a 25 mile or a 50 mile route, following the old railway track from Plymouth up to Princetown, circling the Burrator reservoir on the way.

The event raises funds for Cancer Research and is organised by the Firefighters Fighting Cancer team, a group of 10 firefighters which includes Sidmouth’s Paul West, Rowan Delasalle, Chris Hunt, Sean Faulkner, Ian Robson, Tim Slade and Jon Miller.

In all, the team have raised in excess of £150,000 for cancer-related charities.

All 17 children from Sidmouth families Stamp, Emmett, FitzHenry, Badcock, West, Welsh, Ashby, Jarrett and Miller completed the tough ride with Joe Ashby being the youngest ever rider to complete the 25 mile circuit, aged just 7 years and 261 days.
