This weekend sees the first of three consecutive weekends when members of Sidmouth Tennis Club will be on hand to welcome prospective new members: open sessions are being held between 10-11:30am this Sunday, May 11, and at the same time on the following two Sundays when those interested in playing tennis, either for the first time or resurrecting a former interest in the sport, will have the opportunity to look around the club with all its facilities. Catching the eye will be the three recently resurfaced tarmac all weather courts and a grass court which just needs a little more of the glorious sunshine of recent days to be brought into use.Existing members will be pleased to provide further information on what the club has to offer, including fees, which for new members can include an element of flexibility. Above all Sidmouth is a friendly club in a beautiful setting, situated at the end of Fortfield Terrace overlooking the sea. After a few games of tennis on a Saturday afternoon you can enjoy a cream tea, a choice of drinks from the bar and watch the cricket and, with the First Eleven now back in the Devon Premiership, Sidmouth Cricket Tennis Hockey and Croquet Club has so much to offer. If you are unable to attend any of the three Sunday morning open sessions to be held this month, you can always pop down to the club during the week to pick up a leaflet or telephone either Guy Patton (01395) 519635 or Grant Whillance (01395) 514558.
