Sidmouth Junior Badminton team scored its most impressive win of the season.

Sidmouth Junior Badminton team scored its most impressive win of the season extending its lead at the top of the East Devon Junior Badminton League and, with only one tournament remaining, looks set for promotion next season to the premiership division. The tournament, held at Colyton Sports Centre, included the teams from Sidmouth, Colyton/Honiton and Isca B from Exeter. Sidmouth had a strong side, many players now at the top of their u13 and u17 age groups. The closest of Sidmouth's three matches was against Isca B, a leading club from Exeter, whose A team play in the premiership. Although Sidmouth dropped five out of eight u13 matches, the older team pulled it back, winning seven of their eight games for a final score of 209 to Isca B's 173 pts. (Every point of each game is added to the total). Sidmouth's other two matches, against Colyton/Honiton A and B teams turned out to be much more one-sided affairs. Colyton's B team was put together at short notice, following the withdrawal of Ottery St Mary's team, with many young players competing for the first time. Sidmouth showed no charity, however, and won 237-128 against the A team, and 263 -120 against the B team. All the members of the squad really pulled together and made a fantastic team with a strong sporting attitude to the whole event: U13s: Hannah Domhof, Sarah Hunt, Dan Bisson, Ben Powell, and Scott Hill.U17s: Rosie Sinclair, Grace Williams, Jamie Prosser, Rob Walkden and Harry Williams.Congratulations to Scott Hill, who has only recently joined the Sidmouth squad and was playing his first match.
