Coupled with the glorious weather, outdoor bowling and competitions are in full swing at Sidmouth, writes Elaine Reed.

Sidmouth ladies had a triumphant day playing on two rinks in the Interclub against N. Tawton at Exonia and did Sidmouth proud. Well done to Jean Brimson, Paddy Wrench, Jane Painter and Eileen Hewitt who won 22-13 and Pat Prichard, Elaine Reed, Phil Nobbs and Jill Bishop who won 23-15.

The first round of the ladies’ Handicap had been played. Well done to those who won their matches and got through to the next round: Wendy Limpus, Jane Painter, Jill Bishop, Mary Smith, Pat Pritchard, Jill Lewis and Sue Mison.

The National Top Club against Budleigh at Budleigh resulted in 1.5 - 2.5 win to Budleigh. Commiserations to the rinks and triples, well done to Eileen Hewitt and Jean Brimson who drew in the pairs and a special well done to Margaret King, the lady captain, who demonstrated a composed and dignified performance, not to mention dogged determination, to win in the singles.

A big thank you to all the loyal supporters who turn up to cheer on the teams in matches and competitions, particularly at away matches. Your support is much appreciated.
