A fantastic day was had by all for Mo Kendall's Lady Captains Day held at the golf club on and we were very lucky to have a warm humid day to play a fun round of Stableford with a twist- the number of scores counting depending on which playing card was on the green when reached.
Numerous other prizes were awarded for longest drive, nearest the pin, nearest the gin and being on the 12th green in one shot.
Mo did a fabulous job with organising and providing refreshments both on the course (excellently supported by husband Jamie Kendall) and in the clubhouse and was presented with a bouquet to say a big thank-you from the ladies’ section.
The winning team, on count back, with a fabulous score of 94 points were Gill Johnson, Amy Moore and Michelle Bowers. They were very closely followed by Liz Chance, Susan Hackett and Janet Humberstone. In third place with 86 points were Marie Timms, Heather Cowan and Gill Walker.
Nearest the pin was won by Liz Chance and nearest the gin Maria Clapp, which she has won 3 times in a row. Fiona Hartley was the only lady to be the on the green in one on the 12th and the longest drive was awarded to Amy Moore.
Well done to all the ladies and an especially big thank-you to our 2021 Lady Captain Mo Kendall.
Sidmouth ladies played their first inter club match against Honiton in the Sheelah Creasy Bowl at home last week and had an excellent win 4 matches to 1.
