This season we have two lady captains sharing the workload, which is always a busy one in the summer season.
We certainly had a very interesting day with the Pink Captain’s team playing for Susie Bonnell and the Blue Captain’s team playing for Jill Bishop.
Susie’s team were dressed in varying types of pink attire and Jill’s team in varying types of blue attire. It was a great afternoon and the selection was obviously pretty even as at the finish of 18 ends all was equal – and that is a most unusual happening over a contest of five rinks. The men prepared, and served up, a sumptuous tea at the halfway mark and it all looked and tasted really professional. Could it be that GB gave some guidance? Apart from the five playing rinks, several other ladies were also invited to tea. These are members who either through health or age no longer play outdoors, but it is still very important for them and us to keep in touch and this is a lovely way to do just that.
The best team for the Pinks was the one of Jean Green, Joan Monagham and skip Jane Painter, while the top team for the Blues proved to be the one of Mary Smith, Mary Turner and skip Jill Bishop.
