This Wednesday a small band of ladies braved the hail and rain to play a fun competition, writes Penny Ashby.

Margaret Deuce overcame the opposition and the elements to post a winning score of 22 points on her best nine holes, followed by Sue Langdon and Rosemary Walker on 21 and 17 points.

The fun element of this competition involved only counting our scores on nine holes, just as well for some of us!

Last week saw a Rose Bowl/Basket competition. Sue Langdon was a clear winner of the Bowl section on 40 points, with Marie Timms runner-up on 36 points. In the Basket section, Penny Lyne was the winner on 33 points, with Ann Willoughby runner-up.
