The players in the Friday League at Sidmouth Golf Club were happy to play in relatively dry conditions overhead, but had to contend with some fairly damp ground due to the heavy rain over the previous two days.

However, the improvements currently being carried out on the greens proved to be crucial in ensuring that these were in very good condition in spite of the recent weather.

The winner this week was Mark Lavers who scored 40 points, having gone around in a gross 65 to prove that his third place last week was no fluke.

Second, with 38 points, was Lawrence Hill who has been steadily improving this year, but failed to score on the final hole to miss out on the top spot. In third place was the ever-consistent David Pepperell with 37 points.

In the league table, Mark Lavers’ win put him at the top of the table with 48 points, four points clear of Chris Roberts in second place and seven points clear of Marc Shoobridge in third. place.
