With perfect weather as ordered a field of 93 runners took on the course over some of Axe Valley Runners famous ‘Grizzly’ territory which boasts stunning views of the Jurassic Coast, covering fields, tracks, a challenging pebble beach, under cliffs, a steep climb up Hooken path to reach the cliff top and open common, writes Martin O’Mahoney.

First home was Axe Valley Runner Tim Lenton in 39.26 finishing just ahead of another Axe Valley Runner, Matt Clyst (39.27) whilst in third place was Alex Todd in 40.14.

The first lady home was Exmouth Harriers Hannah Brown in 47.47 with Axe Valley Runner Eleanor Wood (50.42) second and, in third place was Beer girl Kate Vine in 51.12.

In the 5k race a field of 43 ran and the event was won by Charles Chambers in 21.26 with Ollie Caute second in 22.49 and third was Jack Elson in 23.00.

The first female home was Mia Bartlett 26.37 ahead of Grace Haskins (27.22) and third place went to Hannah Bramley in 27.25

The one mile race for the under-11s was very well supported with over 60 children taking part, first home was Chris Watson of All Saints Primary School.

Second was Beer Primary School’s Tim Doulton and third was Joshua Rowe. The first girl home was Imogen Waterhouse from Lyme Regis whilst Sophie Clist from All Saints was second and Darcie Milton of Beer Primary School was third.
