Brixington United 0, Sidmouth 4 Sidmouth Under-16s recorded a second success of the league season with a confident all-round display, writes Mathew Ogley.

Sidmouth began well, closing the opposition down giving them no time on the ball and creating chances. However, there was a lack of passing and some poor decisions being made when attacking. Eventually, a goal came from a beautifully struck shot from outside the area by Alex Seward. Throughout the remainder of the first half, Sidmouth dropped off allowing Brixington to create a few chances, but nothing substantial enough to trouble keeper Adam Bartlett.

At the break Sidmouth boss Ian Peacock urged his players not to concentration or focus.

The team clearly listened to their coach for within minutes of the restart they were two up with Josh Worthington the scorer. Soon after Washington doubled his tally with a well-struck penalty and Sidmouth held a 3-0 lead. The fourth and final goal came from an excellent cross by Joe Cox that James Pearce headed home.

There were solid performances all-round the pitch from Sidmouth with defenders Sam Marriott, Ollie Pinnock and Brett Lines, the latter on debut, dealing with anything the home side threw at them. Alex Seward, captain Mat Ogley and Tom Harrison were industrious in midfield for Sidmouth who this Saturday play at Crediton Saints.
