The south-west football community has come together to express shock and support for Redruth United Football Club following the mindless destruction of their clubhouse.
Despite being based down in the beautiful depths of Cornwall, football fans in Devon have joined forces with their neighbours to raise an incredible £11,000 to help rebuild the Redruth Clubhouse.
Around 60 volunteers helped with the clear up operation. Club captain Dan Horler said the community had been "incredible" with offers of help and messages of support.
"The community support has been incredible from people offering their services for free to all the kind messages from far and wide," he added.
Acts of random vandalism against sporting organisations is sadly not a new phenomenon but such a pointless and frustrating episode for local clubs, who work incredibly hard to provide something positive for their communities.
All of us in East Devon send our support to Redruth United.
