On Wednesday the Sidmouth ladies played a joker competition, writes Penny Ashby.

Each player chose two holes on which to play their jokers.

Penny Lyne chose hers most effectively, scoring an impressive 43 stableford points, ahead of Angela Coles and Margaret Thompson, with 40 and 39 points respectively.

Last Friday saw new granny and ladies’ captain Ros Eaton scoop the Grandmothers’ Shield.

For the event there was a large field of competitive golfing grannies!
