Three ladies’ pairs competed in the Majors at Madeira Bowling Club, two getting through to the semi-finals, before Terri and Dot were beaten by a strong Sidmouth Pair of Jill Bishop and Susie Bonell.
Sharon Kenny and Gail Hawke progressed through to the final where they faced another Sidmouth pair of Karen Hollingsdale and Jane Painter, the game was very close with the Ottery pair running out winners, and going through to the last 16 in the county.
On Saturday, the ladies were in action against Honiton in the Grace Matthews top club, winning in three disciplines and losing narrowly in two. In the semi-final, we now meet Seaton.
In a friendly with Starcoss, a match of 5 triples in which Ottery won on four rinks, overall victory 93-61. Best rink being that of Mike Kelsey, Sandie Brockington and Maurice Flowers.
Finishing the week on Sunday with a 6-rink game against Topsham, where again the home team secured a narrow victory with the rinks being shared and an overall score of 85-81. The top rink was T Panzeri, C Hawke, M Griffin and E Richardson.
