Tipton are through to the next round of the Bill Slee Cup (2nd rnd) after a comfortable 6-1 win over Sidbury 2nds.

Team news was that goalkeeper Steve Forbes was back from flu but Lee Strawbridge was out with a calf injury, manager Dave Strawbridge coming into midfield as cover.

The game started at a great pace with end-to-end entertainment but it was Tipton who had the first chance. Adrian Small missing the target from six yards. That was the start of some great opportunities which went begging. Jody Freeman was next up to miss a sitter from six yards. With the Tipton crowd thinking it was going to be one of those days Freeman made amends when he unleashed an unstoppable 40-yard rocket which flew into the top corner. That was the first of some fantastic goals from Tipton.

Mark Perryman was up next to score direct from a free kick, again he must have been a good 40 yards from goal.

Tipton pressed for more but came in at the break 2-0 up. Adam Connett came on at half time with keeper Steve Forbes going off ill and Barry Wood going into goal. Within five minutes, Connett had made his mark on the game by poking in the third. His second and Tipton's fourth came soon after. Small got down the right and put in the cross of the season so far which Connett headed into the far corner. An own goal gave Tipton their fifth goal but, to be fair to Sidbury, they kept plugging away and got a consolation with 10 minutes to go.

To finish things off, Neil Gooding scored a 30-yard pile driver into the top right corner to seal the win.

Next up for Tipton is a return to the league with a match away at Honiton Town with a kick off of 3pm.

l Tipton 2nds gave a very creditable performance away at Honiton Town 2nds in the Geary Cup.

After losing Marc Gething to a horrendous injury in the first minute - reportedly a broken knee cap with ligament damage which is in plaster and will be reassessed once the swelling has gone down - they were very unlucky to get beaten 2-0.

This week they are home to Colyton 2nds. Tipton players would like to wish Marc a speedy recovery.
