The ladies began the week well, winning their match in the Lane competition against Isca by 74-68, the most successful rink being Jan Jameson-Bates, Adelina Constable, Elaine Reed and skip Eileen Stribling.

However, in the Yetton Trophy against Exonia, they lost and now enter the Plate competition against Torquay United

The men had a disappointing week. In a County Trophy Over-60s game against Plymouth they lost on all four rinks, and in the Denny Plate competition versus Dawlish they won one rink, drew another but lost on the other two. The winning rink was Maurice Watson, John Chew, Mike Reader and skip Peter Clements.

Against Exonia, away, Sidmouth Mixed won a close game 58-54 with the best rink being Betty Farmer, Christa Turner, Ron Denning and skip Michael Hunt. Home against Chudleigh saw another win, 83-48 with two rinks having the same winning margin; Ray Tallent, Anne Tredget, John Chew and skip Dreda Taylor and Pat Hague, Wilf Radburn, Edward Backhouse and skip Eileen Hewett.
