It might have been a bank holiday, but over 50 golfers still found time for Sidmouth Golf Club's Monday Stableford.
Some of the married ones will probably have done so in between walking two paces behind management and pushing the supermarket trolley or, even worse, whistling along with the piped music in an Exmouth DIY superstore.
On the other hand, there is always Sidmouth's glorious fairways, and Simon Emerson led the way this week with 43 points off his 26 handicap.
He also trousered £42 prize money and earned a two-shot cut down to 24.
William Hastie now plays off a more testing 10 handicap after taking second with 42 points, and Kym White's 41 points earned him third place and a cut down to 11.
Colin Burford was just outside the prizes after carding 40 points to beat Duncan Taylor for fourth on a countback, and he earned a one shot cut to take his playing handicap down to 27.
Duncan took his exact handicap to 4.5 so for the moment stays on 5 playing handicap.

Although a number of our juniors were active in the Monday Stableford, they were on the course on the following day to play for the Baker Holland Trophy.
This time it was Ross Collins who earned the right to pick up the silverware with a net 62 playing off 13.
He probably won't see 13 handicap again, as it continued the steady move south to 12.
James Winchester earned runner up with a net 63 playing off 6, and Nat Brace took third place with a net 64.
Lowest gross went to Winchester with 65.
