The Sidmouth and Ottery Hockey Club (SOHC) ladies second eleven returned from their Sedgemoor Division One visit with a point fro a 1-1 draw with Taunton Vale.

Missing a number of key players, SOHC fielded the Dormer sisters Diana and Alice in attacking roles and they certainly did not disappoint.

Another to sparkle was Millie Jarrett who had a terrific match in midfield while the club legend that is Jan Moore made a welcome return to the ranks and settled in seamlessly into a fresh-faced starting eleven.

The opening goal was scored by SOHC with Karen Dutton rifling the ball in from the most acute of angles giving the goalkeeper no chance of keeping it out!

Taunton restored parity, but it was SOHC who did the bulk of the pressing as they kept possession well to dominate large periods of the contest.

Alice Dormer was in terrific form and showed herself to be fearless on two occasions when she took on the home goalkeeper in one-on-one situations!

The only thing missing fro an otherwise superb all-round performance was the second goal that the team play surely deserved!

One thing that came shining out of the overall show is the fact that there is very genuine promise coming through the ranks at the club! Anna Moroz continues to grow in stature and looks on the road to being a mighty fine player. There were also some superb midfield skills on display from Anna Rowson who anchored the team effort. It was Rowson who, alongside the experienced Moore, deservedly shared the accolade of Most Supportive Player while the SOHC Player of the Match award was shared by Anna Rowson and Anna Moroz.
