Sidmouth IIIs skipper David Watkins certainly seems to have the midas touch. He’s been in charge for three games and won them all after Saturday’s two wicket win over Bideford II at Newton Poppleford.

The visitors batted first and found the going difficult in the face of some tidy home bowling. No bowler was more accurate than Charlie Dibble who followed up his figures of 3-9 from nine overs seven days before with even more impressive figures of 3-6 from nine!

Graham Munday bagged a brace for 28 runs from 4.5 overs and there was a wicket each for Lee Clayden, Toby Seldon and Issac Thomas.

The Sidmouth reply got off to a troubled start with both openers, skipper Watkins (3) and Issac Thomas (3) sent back. However, a knock of 46 from Mike Pidgeon and an unbeaten 54 from Graham Munday saw Sidmouth to a third successive win as they beat the visitors by two wickets to continue their charge up the 2nd XI B Division East table.
