The first Saturday of the month meant the monthly medal, this time sponsored by Molyneux Financial Planning, was contested at Sidmouth Golf Club, writes John Barnard.

Winning Division One was Martin White who shot an excellent 67 gross including four birdies to win with a net 63. In second place was David Bater, following his win the day before. He scored a net 65, including a birdie and one double bogie to see his handicap reduce to four. He won on countback from Mike Knight, the latter once again in the prizes. Three double bogies messed up Mike’s card, otherwise he would have been looking at a low round!

In Division Two, Eric McMath came out top, also shooting a net 63. His round was going very well, but two double bogies in the last four holes cost him a great score. Second was Craig Melluish, showing a return to form with a net 67including four pars in the last six holes to win on countback from Ron Turner.

The score of the day was in Division Three as Sean Murphy shot a net 61, only two dropped shots in the last five holes meant a handicap reduction of two shots. Also scoring well was Ken Mylne with a net 62. He had a great round, slightly messed up by the 16th and 17th hole, but still meaning a handicap reduction of two shots. Mike Davis was third with a net 65.

Mark Thomas is leading in the eclectic with 59, with Kevin Legg in second on countback.
