Sidmouth were 4-2 winners in a fine Exeter and District Youth League Under-16 KO Cup quarter final tie at Ottery St Mary.
The Otters battled well throughout and, albeit against the run of play, took the lead through Kyle Stone. Sidmouth, beaten just once this season in all competitions, levelled and then took a 3-1 lead before Toby Harris fired the Otters back into contention. However, Sidmouth always had a measure of control over proceedings and their fourth and final goal confirmed their passage to another senior-final. Connor Murphy bagged a brace, one from the penalty spot and the other Sidmouth scorers were Johnny Dunn and Joe Miller. Sidmouth boss Jon Miller said: βTo be honest it was a flat game. I never felt we got out of a low gear. Credit to Ottery who battled away and always looked to play, but we, I felt, always had that little bit extra to get the job done.β
