The Sidmouth Croquet Club Open Day attracted approximately 30 prospective new members, writes Mike Taylor.
They were treated to short presentations by Elaine Woodward (chairman) and David Temple (secretary) before being let loose on the cricket outfield with all the mallets the club could muster. By the end of the morning, the vast majority had signed up for a series of six training sessions to take place during April. Anyone interested in playing who was unable to attend on Saturday should phone (01395) 516731 for more information.
?The season will start for existing members with off-lawn refresher sessions as follows:- Association Croquet, March 12, 10am to noon; Golf Croquet, March 19, 10am to noon. Lawns will open on March 30 at 11am.
