The winter months have certainly not been dormant for the creative marketing team at Sidmouth Cricket Club.
A new logo has been produced by the team behind the scenes and there will be a sparkling new kit for players throughout the different age groups.
“We enter our bicentenary season in a couple of years and we wanted to ensure better branding for the club,” said Tim Chapman from Sidmouth CC.
“We are all hoping we will be able to play cricket again from April and start building toward a successful season.
“The rebrand came from a need for consistency in the look and feel for Sidmouth Cricket Club across all our online channels, and around the club.
“We wanted a fresh new logo for future generations and we are lucky enough to have a graphic designer, Anthony Cox, who plays for Sidmouth and he has created the branding for us.
“There is a nod to the old logo and our history, as well as a freshness. Anthony also coaches the juniors and a big benefit for us to have him involved.
“The project has given the Cricket Club a bit of focus and a purpose to give us a better look. The aim is to make the whole club feel more unified.
“The juniors will have the same kit as the seniors, with the same sponsors. We’re also fortunate to have Matt Cook with us, who is a kit manufacturer, so we’re certainly utilising the skills within the club.
“From the start of this season, we will have a brand new kit and everyone will be allocated a number, so names and numbers printed on the back of the shirts.
“It will make things easier for people watching to understand who is playing, who is batting and bowling.”
It is great to see so much happening at the club and a quick trawl through their excellent Facebook page shows a number of sponsors joining the Sidmouth team.
In these difficult times, it is great to think about those dreamy summer days of enjoying some local cricket.
