A new season brings new targets and new expectations for drivers as speed hillclimbing gets under way at Wiscombe Park next weekend (April 26/27).

A full programme of motor sport spread across the two days will see a variety of machinery in action - from road-going saloons through the modified categories of saloons and sports to a selection of racing car classes.

A number of one-make categories are included in the Sunday running order, catering for cars of the Triumph TR Register and the Ginetta Owners' Club.

The battle for the prestigious Fastest Time of The Day award will no doubt be fought out between John Forsyth, a Wiscombe winner in recent seasons who will again be campaigning his Pilbeam MP58 powered by a 3.5 litre V8 engine, and David Gardner.

Further interest will also focus on the up to 1400cc capacity split of the Modified Production Saloon and Sports Car class as Exeter's Daniel Hope will take on the similar car of Adrian Langley, from Sidmouth, and the latter's former co-driver, Bob Rouse, who proved rapid last season. Conducting his Ford Fiesta, the Exeter man will be looking to defeat the Mini challenge.
