Bovey Tracey were the first visiting team to Ottery Bowls after a long 18 months and it was a delight to welcome them following such a lengthy abstinence.
The result was also a first in that the club started the season with a good win, the overall score being 66 shots to 45, with Ottery winning two rinks against one for Bovey.
The top rink for Ottery was Tony and Dot Luff, Keith Thorley and Brian Baker, who won their match with an unbeatable 32 shots to 4.
New players are always welcome, and on Sunday, May 16, an open day is being held at Strawberry Lane, Ottery St Mary from 10am to 3pm. If you have never tried the game and would like to do so, then please call Mrs Gail Hawke on 07772 134253 to book your time slot.
Fully trained coaches will be in attendance throughout the session to assist.
