New year and new opportunities for Sidmouth Chiefs, Quins and Colts

On Saturday, Sidmouth Chiefs resume their league campaign at home against Newent, kicking off at 2.30pm. The Chiefs enter the new year in 11th position and will be looking for an improvement in the new year to move to a mid-table position. 

The Quins completed their 2021 fixtures with a comfortable 27-8 Merit Table One win against Paignton 2nds. Tries were scored by Tom Woodruff, Chris Otway, Connor Preston, Adam Squance and Matt Ewings.  

They currently lie in 8th place with games in hand over the teams above them, with a top five position the aim. The Quins travel to Exmouth 2nds on Saturday. 

The Colts will start the County Colts competition in confident mood following their 78-8 victory over Exeter Athletic Colts in their last game of 2021. They will play in an area qualifying group along with Crediton, Cullompton, Exmouth, Tiverton and Topsham. Sidmouth start with a home game against Exmouth Colts on Saturday, January 15.
