Sidmouth Town are all set for a very special Good Friday morning (11am) fixture when they entertain Budleigh Salterton before what is expected to be a far bigger than usual Manstone Lane crowd.

The reason for that is the fact the game is the first of three on Good Friday that are part of the seven-games-over-three-days 2018 SWPL Groundhop. Attending the game will be close to 300 Groundhoppers who are taking in all seven matches. Given that Town also draw a good crowd for East Devon derby matches – the attendance at Manstone Lane is expected to be the highest for many seasons. Kick-off at Manstone Lane is 11am.

Stunell says: “I expect the game with Budleigh to be full of goals. We will have a larger than usual turnout and that will crank up the atmosphere. In cold game play terms, Budleigh, having not played this week will arguably be fresher, but we are on a high after the back-to-back wins and I expect us to deliver more of the same. I am sure they [Budleigh], will come and have a go and we’ll be doing the same. It ought to be a Good Friday cracker with both sides looking to get a positive result.”

With Ben Farringdon starting a suspension for a red card picked up playing for the Town second team, Jamie Newbury, who missed the win at Bovey Tracey, returns and also back, having been unavailable through work in midweek, is captain and goalkeeper Robbie Powell.
