Newton Poppleford reach the half way stage of their Fresha League Three campaign when they travel to Clyst Valley Reserves tomorrow (Saturday).

The Popples bagged themselves an early lead when they were involved in one of a handful of games to beat the weather last Saturday.

However, from a 1-0 lead over University 4ths, they went on to ship ten, though they did score two more.

The defeat leaves the Popples sitting 10th with 13 points from a dozen games and they are currently six points above the drop zone and nine points short of the top six.

The game with Clyst Valley Reserves ought to produce goals as the Winslade Park side’s last four games have seen no fewer than 34 goals scored! In the 16 games so far this season 92 goals have been scored at an average of almost six every game.
