Newton Popples Reserves had their Macron League Division Eight unbeaten start ended when they went down by the odd goal in three to a rejuvenated Seven Stars Kennford.
Ash Doble netted the Popples goal – his third in five games this season.
Popples Reserve team boss Leigh Adey said: “It was simply one of those ‘bad days at the office’ for the lads. That said, if we have genuine intentions of challenging for the league’s top honour this season we cannot afford any more such days as we have seen that this division is full of good sides who can, on any given day, beat any other team in the section.”
On Saturday (October 8), the Popples travel to Bampton Reserves for another league game.
