Newton Poppleford are in action at Axmouth United tomorrow (Saturday).

The Popples travel to Axmouth looking, as indeed are the home side, for their first league win of the new term.

Both sides have played just the one league game so far – and lost it. Last weekend Axmouth United did bag a second successive early season cup win with a 2-1 home victory against Pinhoe in the Devon Senior Cup.

The Popples were without a game last weekend and last saw action on September 9 when they won 1-0 at Bow AAC in the Bill Slee Cup.

The Popples Reserves were washed out in their bid to play a Devon Intermediate Cup tie at Bideford Community Reserves last Saturday and so, under the new County Cup rules, the postponement means a ‘switch’ to Newton Poppleford and the game will be played at the Popples home with a kick-off of 2pm.
