There was a good field of ladies entering the first qualifying Medal competition of the season and the weather was kind for an enthusiastic band of Sidmouth golfers.
Coming first with a very impressive score of a nett 60 was Sharon O'Brien, with Vanessa Ireson finishing in second on countback from Andrea Milton with 64.
Vanessa also won the putting competition with an excellent 29 putts over 18 holes. Amazingly, there were no '2s' scored, despite the great nett scores. A few handicap cuts will no doubt be seen soon.
In the Doris Willes-Little Cup played at Exeter Golf and Country club, Sidmouth players Maria Clapp and Heather Cowan unfortunately lost their match 3/2 but Maria managed a very respectable 4th place in the Devon Medals finals at Downes Crediton. Amy Moore came 20th in Division 2.
Well played everyone and more great golf ahead over the summer months.
