Ottery St Mary 3rd XI last weekend raced to a ten wicket victory as they swept aside the challenge of Kenn 2nd XI in delightful surroundings at the foot of the Haldon Hills, writes Ian Townsend.
Teenage seamers, Tom Hinch (2-6) and Tom Jeacock (3-16) starred as the home side were skittled for just 70.
Embarrassingly, extras registered top score with 23, Paul Boot’s 22 being the only significant contribution with the bat.
Teenager Joe Henkus and veteran Richard Lock, made quick work of the run chase as the Otters replied.
Lock posted an unbeaten 20, nurdling the ball around in typically astute fashion, whilst the promising Henkus continued his fine season by unleashing a series of impressive shots to finish unbeaten on 36 as the Otters registered a third successive triumph in an impressive first league campaign.
