Ottery St Mary are at home to Clyst Valley tomorrow (Saturday) in a Macron League Division Three game.

Ironically, the last time the Otters saw action was on January 13 when they played at Clyst Valley Reserves.

Otters boss Dave Fairweather has only wing back Aiden Davey – a former Clyst Valley player – missing through unavailability and James Gosney is still out injured, though the good news on the Gosney front is that he hopes to be back in training within a fortnight.

Fairweather says of the Clyst Valley meeting: “It’s a tough one to call in terms of our match preparation for you never really know, in times of inclement weather and concern over pitches, if a club with two teams won’t play their first team. If that happens then, of course, it’s a case of ‘so be it’, but I do think home advantage will be key to us and this game does bring up the halfway stage of our league campaign which, in itself, suggests there’s plenty of the campaign left, so it would be nice to make halfway with a good performance and a win!”

The kick-off for the Clyst Valley game is 3pm and that’s the start time for all Saturday matches (except for cup ties) from now on through to the end of the season.
