OTTERTON served up their finest all round performance since arriving in the Premier Division with a 6-2 home mauling of local rivals Budleigh Salterton Reserves, writes Andy Mitchell. The game was effectively won inside the opening 25 minutes, during which time the Otters hit the Robins' net five times. There were just seven minutes on the clock when defender Matty Tett fired home from just inside the area. The visitors were level within two minutes but that simply served to take the Otters to a new level as they struck three times in the next 12 minutes.Kevin Pitt made it 2-1 when he headed in after Simon Tuley's effort rebounded off the crossbar. Tuley then made it 3-1 before David Evans set up Tim Wright to fire home and that completed the first half goal scoring.Within four minutes of the re-start Otterton were 5-1 to the good when Tom Matthews set up Wright for his second of the game and Matthews hit his side's sixth on 72 minutes before a late consolation from the penalty spot for the visitors completed the scoring. There were good performances all over for Otterton with Lee Mitchell, Doug Dale, Tett and Charlie Page dominating in defence. Mark Dunne was excellent in midfield whilst Bill Coleman, Jake Boyland and Mark Tett also contributed after coming from the dugout. There's another home game this Saturday with the visit of Heavitree Social whilst the Reserves, who were without a game last weekend, travel to Amory Argyle on Saturday.l Meanwhile the Otterton Sunday XI travelled to top-of-the-table Wonford looking to complete the double over the Exeter side but found the hosts in very good form.At half time the Otters were in the game at 3-2, even though not putting in a good half, with a double from Tom Bishop to take his tally to 35 this season. Two further second half goals from the hosts condemned the Otters to a 5-2 defeat.
