OTTERTON'S three sides collectively shipped 14 goals in their weekend games, writes Andy Mitchell. The Saturday Devon and Exeter League Premier Division side travelled to Wellington, fell behind in the first two minutes and never recovered. With three regulars missing, it was difficult for the side to find anything like their usual rhythm and they ended up being beaten 4-1, with Tom Matthew's the scorer of what was very much a consolation goal. This weekend the Otters have a chance to make some headlines when they attempt to end the season-long unbeaten record of champions-elect St Martin's.l Otterton Reserves took on an Offwell Rangers Reserve side clearly boosted by the fact their 1st team had their match called off and they raced into a four goal lead. They held that advantage until the 70th minute when Stuart Shipton netted and he went on to score three more times to earn the side a richly-deserved point. On Saturday, the side travels to Lapford. l The Otters' Sunday side went down 6-5 to Topsham Town A, but not before Jake Boyland hit a hat-trick in a superb performance.
