Ottery St Mary FC has appointed a new manager - Dave Weeks, who lives a stone’s throw from the club. Weeks is an FA physio and has worked at Ipswich Town and Birmingham City. He has recently been involved with Tipton St John FC (who play at Ottery) and briefly worked alongside Dane Bunney.

There was a mutual agreement between the club and Bunney to change direction. The club have issued a statement saying: “We would like to say that we are very grateful to Plymouth- based Dane Bunney for all of his work and commitment to the first team last season, but we feel that the involvement of Weeks will give us more potential and scope for the progression of the first team and also the youth section.

“This is an area that we are very keen to develop and provide a bridge from youth to mature level. Weeks is extremely keen to assist in the development of the players and coaches at both levels and his own coaching experience will be the catalyst for this.”

Chairman Steve Broadbent said: “Dave has already got local companies involved with sponsorship and, hopefully, we will get the locals back watching and supporting their club.”.
