Ottery Bowls Club started their winning streak with a 107 – 93 defeat of Crediton, with the top team comprising Maurice Flower, Melvin Trayhurn and the husband-and-wife combination of Leighton and Eileen Burston.
Portishead Royal British Legion Bowling Club visited Strawberry Lane and Ottery came out winners with a score of 127 shots to 86. The top team was Dot Luff, Dave Roberts, Richard Bland and Terry House.
The final match was against Bitton Park from Teignmouth, although a computer glitch meant the fixture almost didn’t happen. Despite the panic, Ottery came out as winners by 104 shots to 80. John and Terri Ward together with Carol Bennett formed the top team on this occasion.
Friday evening club nights are now in full swing. These start at 6pm and finish as the sun goes down. New players or visitors are always welcome to come along to try out or play the game.
