The finals of the internal competitions were held over last weekend, Saturday and Sunday, August 22 and 23.

Although cloudy, the weather was dry throughout, and spectators were able to enjoy some hard-fought games. The arrangements were most efficiently organised by club captain David Nangle.
On Saturday morning, M Parker beat F Hunt in the Ladies' Singles 2 woods, 21 ends match, and J Ward beat T House in the Men's Singles 2 woods, 21 shots.
On Saturday afternoon F Hunt beat M Parker in the Ladies' Singles 4 woods, 21 shots match, and D Rose beat W Taylor in the Men's Singles 4 woods, 21 shots match.
On Sunday morning F Hunt, M Parker and M Potter beat J Bebb, P Richards and W Taylor in the Mixed Triples 3 woods, 18 end match.
In the Otter Trophy, a competition which excludes previous winners of club trophies, J Ward beat M Smith.
On Sunday afternoon E Saunders and J Saunders beat T House and S Wade in the Nominated Mixed Pairs 4 woods, 21 ends.
In a hard fought game, M Parker beat H Channon in the Open Singles 4 woods, 21 shots, a match which has always been considered the major singles championship
In a newly introduced match, the Open Singles 3 woods, over 18 ends, N Lawrence beat J Taylor.
The day finished with a splendid barbecue, organised by John and Terri Ward, assisted by several members. All in all it was a very memorable weekend.
