Ottery ST Mary may have lost to Alphington 3-0 at the Chronicles, but they are looking forward to Saturday’s rematch at Washbrook Meadow.

They are confident that, 11 men to 11 men, they are the better side, having played all bar 10 minutes with 10 men on this first meeting.

Goalkeeper Tony Allie was sent off - Ottery were expecting to be awarded a free kick, and central Defender Lee Withy stood in between the posts.

Ottery had the Alphas pinned in their own half for much of the game. They conceded another penalty - this time not disputed - and the Alphas got a third as Ottery were pushing forward.

“They weren’t that welcoming,” manager Dane Bunney said. “I wouldn’t say they were great hosts, but we decided at half time that we would make sure we didn’t give up and they know they will be in trouble against a full side.”

Chris Belstone and Danny Johnson are unavailable but, bar those, Bunney has a full squad available.
