Ottery III edged out in close encounter with Filleigh II

Ottery St Mary 3rd XI were edged out by Filleigh II in an exciting contest.

Filleigh batted first and were restricted to 207-9 with four of the eight bowlers used by Otters’ skipper Barry Flicker, claiming wickets.

Rory Craib took top billing with 4-36 from nine overs and the other wickets fell to Aidan Pearcey (2-32), George Mills (2-29) and Matthew Jeacock (1-23).

The Ottery run chase was looking good at 175-5, but the final five wickets fell for the addition of just 21 runs to leave Filleigh 11 run winners. Captain Flicker (36), Russell Corney (34) and Richard Hall (33), were the main contributors with the bat.
