Ottery St Mary ladies are celebrating chalking up their record win to date.
The Otterettes were 15-0 winners when they entertained Keyham Kolts in a Devon Women’s League meeting at Washbrook Meadow.
In a one-sided affair, the Ottery ladies scored 10 goals before the break and added five more in the second half.
The star of the show – in terms of goal scoring – was KC Williams, who netted no fewer than six times. Georgia Baker scored four times and Louise Ilsley bagged a hat-trick, while the other two goals were scored by Lauren West.
In terms of the clean sheet, the Otterettes’ goalkeeper was Shannon Newman and she now has the distinction of becoming the first ever Ottery ladies’ goalkeeper to march off at the end of the game with a clean sheet to her name.
One other most newsworthy thing to come out of the game – while Keyham turned up with 11 and so were unable to send on fresh legs, Ottery did start with 12 on parade, but captain Georgia Chapman could only play the first 30 minutes before having to dash off, shower and change – and get off to a christening!
