Halwill Reserves 5, Ottery St Mary 2 The Otters returned from the long trip to North Devon with their Fresha Division Six status hanging by a thread, writes Adam Harris.
Ottery had travelled looking to end a poor run of form that had seen them take just four points from a possible eighteen since the start of March.
However, this was to be another game in which Ottery found themselves behind and unable to recover.
Halwill quickly found themselves two up and, despite a goal either side of half-time, Ottery were unable to net anymore goals as the home side bagged a comfortable success.
On Saturday Ottery travel to free-scoring Topsham Town – the Tops have scored 20 times in their last four games. Three points is vital for both sides, Ottery in their bid to avoid relegation, and for fifth placed Topsham three points could go a long way to closing the gap on Priory in their promotion push.
