Representatives from the Devon Air Ambulance and Honiton Hospiscare Support Group attended Ottery St Mary Short Mat Bowls Club to receive cheques on behalf of their Charities, writes Bridgett Hallowes.
Club chairman Ron Berry presented £400 to Don Hansford on behalf of Devon Air Ambulance and £1,300 to Mary Bolshaw and Sue Gibson on behalf of the East Devon Hospice Day Centre, Appeal.
This was the proceeds of the Bowls Clubs annual charity bowling competitions held in October and November 2014. ]
The bowls club is open on Monday nights from 7pm to 10pm and Wednesday mornings 10am to 12 noon, if you are interested come and see if short mat bowling is for you, new members are always welcome, you are never too young or old to give it a try.
