Ottery St Mary Under-15s were clinical in the way they put visiting Crediton Youth to the sword at Washbrook Meadow, writes Steve Birley.

The Otters scored nine times in a clean-sheet success.

Coach Steve Flinders said: β€œIt was another very good show by the boys who were on top of their game from the very first minute. Some of the goals were special and all were clinically taken.”

The Otters struck four in the first half and another five after the break.

James Hepworth hit the first two and then a Sean Jepson double saw the Otters into half-time with a healthy advantage.

In the second half Tom Collins slammed a hat-trick and Christian Shaw came off the bench to net a rare goal before Lewis Matthews rifled in the ninth.

In the final minute Jepson was brought down in the area, but his penalty kick was saved and he was denied a hat-trick.

Bradley Goodier was the star of the show for the Otters as he bossed the middle third of the pitch from start to finish.

Tomorrow the Otters travel to Witheridge (10.15am).
